Simslille bibliotek, Rådhusvej 2

Here´s a story for you guys:
The citizens of the small island Simslille have been left in severe speculations.
An old islander, who left for the mainland 70 years ago and made a fortune, has passed away. She had no heirs and as she never forgot her beloved hometown she wrote a will in which she left a very large sum to improve the cultural development in Simslille. Her only criterias were that the poor old library of the island should be made a lot better and that her money should be of use and joy to all the islanders, young and old, rich and poor.
So now the islanders have to chose between two possibilities: Do they want a perfectly new concrete library with a cafeteria and everything and spend the whole amount on getting it OR would they prefer to save the charming old buildings of the existing library, give it a total makeover and still have a few simoleons left for other options?
Which would you choose?
Here´s the new library:

The cheaper solution would of course be to keep the beautiful old building. Give it a total makeover and fill it up with the newest computers and board games.
There will, of course, not be room for at cafeteria and a roof terrace is also not available, but the old building do have a lot of charm which maybe fits the sorroundings a lot better than a shining concrete square. The citizens of Simslille are placed in two corners: those who want the new, but most expensive library against those, who prefer the charming old building with is smaller facilities but then still a few simoleons left for the island budget.....to benefit the children and the old people maybe?
Which of the two would you prefer?

Hello everybody, how about a cup of coffee...

I have made this romantic coffee shop for you in 3 versions. It´s called Sophies Minde after the british painter, Sophie Anderson (1823-1903) and is the danish name for something like: In the memory of Sophie.
Especially earlier it was quite normal to name places after beloved or famous persons even though the places were not exactly monuments but more like residentials or public places like parks or small manor houses.
My community lot here is actually an entry to the May Challenge on the danish site Sims 3 Byggeforum that I have mentioned quite a number of times. By clicking the link you´ll be brougth to the site and the painting by Sophie Anderson that should inspire to an entry of any kind, and mine was this coffee shop.

I´ll show all 3 versions to you and the first one is the original with quite some CC, especially flowers:

Christianesøhus

The previous couple of houses I´ve uploaded are made for Roselil89 new neighbourhood: The City.
I have actually built this one for her as well, but who knows, maybe she thinks that other people should have a go as well, so I don´t know yet, if it´ll be there or if I just have to save it for the rest of the world :D
You can have it if you like:
It´s a town house inspired by the ones in Ebert´s Villaby I have mentioned before. Built around 1900, I guess, and supposed to house a family from the upper middleclass.
As I write, I realize that I have forgotten to build butler´s or maid´s quarters, you´ll have to add them for yourselves if you can´t live with a maid who lives elsewhere.

Go to the next page if you´d like to see the whole house. I´ve made a slideshow for you!

Sinderup huset

This´ll be the first house I´ve made in Starlight Shores or Simmywood, as I´ve called it in my game, now is that original :) Actually I dont think it fits there. It is a 1970´ies inspired, danish, deattached house with room for the perfect family of mother, father, daughter and son. How boring is that? And still, it´s just a nice little house without pretention.
Evergreen plants makes the garden almost carefree,
besides it´s so small you almost can´t call it a garden!
The furniture was very often made of pinetree covered with
checked horsecloth, that was rather hot at the time. Being a kid I just thought
it was scratchy.

Everybody had new kitchens. Oak veneer and white goods were everything but white:
Oxblood, olive, ochre,.... a lot more strange than actually pretty.

Alliancehuset

I know I have slowed down considerably and it reallys show on the number of visitors on this blog. But what else can you do if health tells you to spend a bit less time on the computer.
However, I have spend time enough for this town house.
It is a strange mix of styles just like lots of older houses in my neighbourhood. Started as a tiny shed on a piece of old market garden-land that the workers could afford, just outside Copenhagen. Build of available materials of all kinds it grew and budded a new room here and a new floor there as the economy of the owners allowed. That procedure resultet in a whole suburb of very often quite strange and definately very individual houses. Not always all that pretty but always rather charming indeed.
Alliancehuset is inspired of those houses. The backyard with room for a pig and a few hens has been sold  years ago, so the garden is tiny, and even though the house looks quite large it is not all that spacious.
Have a look:
Alliancehuset

Obviously the house needs a redecoration as it has been untouched since the middle of the 1970íes, which is proved by the green dishwasher, stove and fridge. The wallpapers will become retro in a number of years as wll as the furniture, but right now it just look a bit mother-in-law-ly. :)

Kildeparken

I´m trying to learn not to upload all the time and create so much, I have my shoulder to think of as you might have read. But today I have something for you that has really been bothering me a bit. The observant user of this blog might thing: "I´ve seen this before," and I can only respond "So true, my friend, so true!". This is indeed a house which is already here, previously known as Spring Park.
Kildeparken

Now why swhould this cosy little spot bother the woman, you could say, and let me tell you why:
This little house is where I live IRL, well, at least as close as it gets. I made a no CC version and uploaded it at The Exchange, and here´s the problem: NOBODY wanted the place that I love so much. I´m never going to leave this, or should I say when I am it´ll be feet first, in a casket.
After having become addicted to uploading my lots I have had to realize the terrible fact, that I like to see how many people who want my stuff. I´m even counting sometimes!
Yes, I know, it´s embarrassing, but honestly, if that can make an old hag feel happy, who cares..... And as long as people close to me feel free to tease me about it, and believe me, they do!....I mean, nobody ´s getting hurt here. Except me, because why don´t others look with the same devoted eyes at my dear home?
Links to CC can be found if you click on the "Read more"-button rigth below
So, now I have left the CC-version and spiced up the place with lots of flowers and paintings which is actually closer to what it really looks like  but also makes it a bit heavy.
I just want you guys to see it!

Parish Clerk Cottage

It´s been a while since my last upload, it seems I can´t keep up with new houses every other day, not because I don´t want to, but because I have become a small reminder from my shoulder, telling me, that I would profit from not sitting in front of the computer all the time. So I have bought myself an elevation table and now I can stand up building! But I guess, I have to slow down a bit, anyway.

I have build this small house an made three versions of it: a shell, a no CC version and a version with CC.

From starter to experienced

I´m now going to present you to my last project.
The idea is to restore an old town house and make it a genuine home again.
This I have done in three stages.
Stage 1:
A starter for 1 or 2: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen/dining room and 1 living room. A garden that is not cared for. Only sparsely decorated.
Stage 2:
A starter for a family of 4. Top floor is now opened, but only one room yet in use.
Stage 3:
Here´s the same house, only this time it has been lived in for a long time. A family of 5 has been here for a while.
I hope you´ll  find this little challenge as interesting as I have.
Stage 1:
Stage 2:
Stage 3:
Or maybe you want more....
Why don´t you just press read more and see the slideshow as well

The Star

This will be the largest upload yet on Window to My Sims 3.
And what a house!
The lot is actually not very big, only 25x25, but it´s almost 100 % developed.
You can live here with your children and your parents without even having to meet each other, maybe even your grandparents can have one of the 6 bedrooms.
Have a look here and afterwards go to "read more" to see the slideshow that really presents the house.

Augustigården

Once there let´s just stay in Sweden for a while.
This cottage has plenty of room for a whole family. 4 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study, a large kithen/diningroom and a livingroom. The garden is microscopical, so there´ll be no arguing about who´s turn it is to mowe the lawn. the lot is 15x20.
I have included a few CC-item to which you´ll find the links below the first pic. But as the 11+ Mb turns out to be too much for the Exchange, I´ll be back with a no CC version later. Only in my personal opinion hardly as nice. But you can judge for yourself.
Her is Augustigården with CC:

Back to Sweden: Majgården

I needed a house for a single sim with a horse, so I had to make a new one, and before I knew it I was back in Sweden!
Majgården is lovely little spot.  1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 living/diningroom and 1 kitchen. An old stable with box for 1 horse. The tiny garden is cozy but could certainly profit from a caring hand.
